We offer thirty minute, sixty minute, and ninety minute lessons. For students looking for more coaching, sixty minute and ninety minute lessons are best. Additionally, if you are scheduling lessons for more than one child, longer lessons allow for each of them to get the quality coaching time they need.
Typically, lessons are scheduled for one time slot per week. If you would like yourself or your child to receive additional coaching, you can schedule more time each week.
Yes. Ideally, you would want to own your instrument rather than rent, because you won’t have to spend money monthly to rent it. Additionally, every instrument feels a little different and you want to grow comfortable with the instrument you’re playing so that you know what to expect each time. If you don’t have an instrument, I can help guide you to find the best instrument for you.
There is no set answer as to how long it takes to learn an instrument. It depends on the individual and how often they have lessons and how much they practice outside of lessons. With proper coaching and consistent practice, a basic level of playing can be accomplished within a few months.
Absolutely! I provide all of the parents I work with step by step instructions on how to help their children practice outside of lessons. If you have a specific question in relation to practice, you can email me at [email protected] and I will respond in a timely manner.
I strongly recommend daily practice. For adults, it is best to practice a minimum of thirty minutes a day. For children, it is often easier to break up practice sessions into ten to fifteen minute increments. Finding a routine that works for you and your family is key. Not only will it ensure you have a routine that you can and will want to stick to, but it also ensures that the student progresses in their music education.
